Finally good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just finished Jenna's appointment with Dr. Raffel and everything looks good!!!
He said the small rim that we saw in there is still there but actually looks smaller. Smaller isn't a word we are used
to hearing. We looked back at the scan that was done 3 months post op of the first surgery and already they were seeing
growth, so needless to say we are truly elated!!! I just read the radiology report and it says" NO RESIDUAL OR RECURRENT
MASS SEEN AND THERE IS NO ABNORMAL ENHANCEMENT". You cannot even imagine the joy we are feeling right now!
We know that there is still a long road ahead, but we are going to be happy in the moment and continue to pray that this little
invader never comes back! Poor Jenna. she is still aslep from the sedation for the MRI and doesn't even know the
good news yet.
I also need to explain the delay today in getting everything done.We were scheduled for the MRI
at 8am(eastern) and due to the 60-70 mph winds we had here yesterday there has been a lot of power outages and somehow two
of the four MRI machines got taken out, so they were down to two MRI machines. So we didn't get in for that until about
9:30am. Jenna did excellent, still scared and crying but she knew that she had to do it, she let them get the IV in and didn't
even feel it
. so needless to say we were late for our apt. with Dr Raffel so that resulted in a two hour wait to see him, which was ok
because she just sat in the whelchair sound asleep, it was very nerveracking for us though. I guess good things do come to
those who wait!! Dr.Raffel wants to keep her on a three month scan schedule for awhile and keep a really close eye on things,
so we will head back out here sometime in December. Please pray for good news again as well as good weather.
We
did speak with him as well about the episodes she has been having with her hands going numb and the dizziness. He is pretty
sure she is hyperventilating, he says that the numbness in the hands is a sign of that. He is certain that none of that is
physically related to tumor. So we will get her in to see Dr Elliot when we get home and he hopefully will get her in to see
the child psychologists and they can help her find a way to deal with all of the stress.
Finally, Thank You is
never going to be enough for all of you that have been so faithful in praying for Jenna. Please don't stop, she has a
long road ahead and needs all of the prayers, as we all know He is the only one that can heal her!!
